Traveling can sometimes be a hassle especially if you’re visiting places with a different weather condition from where you came from. You can get cold or experience the heat. But it does not have to be that way all the time. As long as you know how to dress right, you can be sure to keep your energy and experience comfort during the trip.
Some people tend to go overboard when it comes to their travel attire. There are women, for instance, who want to show off their fashion sense all made up, wearing high heels and all those chunky jewelry and accessories only to complain later when they are asked to remove things at the security area.
The truth is, a traveler can dress simply for his or her trip. Even the fashion experts agree with this. They stressed that comfort should be a top priority instead of displaying one’s fashion style.
1. Avoid Tight-Fitting Clothes
For the women, an ideal outfit would be one with pants or a dress. The dress should not be too fitted and if it’s sleeveless, make sure to wear a light sweater over your shoulders.
Males can choose a pair of pants that fit well to their waist so they won’t have to wear a belt. Keep in mind that belts particularly those with metal buckles are always required to be removed.
2. Do Away with Jewelry and Accessories
If possible, avoid wearing metal jewelry and accessories. These can be a hassle when going through security especially with the belts.
3. Layer Clothes
Airports are normally air conditioned and it can really get cold inside check-in and departure areas as well as inside the plane. As such, you need to prepare for this by layering your tops. A cardigan can be worn over a shirt or blouse and the most ideal to use is a button or tie-waist style.
4. Wear Colored or Printed Clothes
You may love to wear white often during regular days but do avoid wearing this color when you travel. Whether you’re flying or traveling by land, the most appropriate clothes to wear are the colored or printed ones.
Keep in mind that your trip may be long requiring you to change planes and stay at airports for several hours and a white shirt or dress can easily get stained. A little spill of your drink or food will show right away. Another fabric to avoid is the linen as it can get wrinkled with just a few moves.
