Traveling is a glamorous pursuit but it can also be quite taxing. Travel can suck the energy and life out of you especially if you’ve been at it for so many hours. It is rare for a person to get out of a long haul flight still looking fresh and stylish.
But if you think looking good while traveling is near impossible, that’s not true. If you follow these suggestions and tips you can look your best even at the end of your long travel.
Avoid stress
Traveling can already be a stressful activity so try to remove all of the other stressors associated with traveling so you won’t have to feel panicky, nervous and flustered. Make a list of all the things you need to pack so you won’t forget anything and do it well before you leave so you won’t have to rush. Also, plan how you will go to the airport. If you’re not going to drive yourself make arrangements for a cab to fetch you or for a family member to drive you.
Get sleep
The anticipation and anxiety of traveling leaves a lot of people unable to sleep. Try to get as much sleep as you can before your trip. Try to go to bed early the night before your flight. Turn off all lights in your bedroom and make yourself comfortable.
Wear comfortable yet stylish clothes
One thing that can really stress out a traveler is when he wears tight, constrictive clothes. There are a lot of options for comfortable but stylish clothes for travelers. Wearing loose cotton pants is a good bet for men, while women can wear slacks and a loose top. You should also wear comfortable shoes. Loafers are your choice since it’s easy to take off yet does not have heels that can become comfortable after some time. You should also wear socks so your feet won’t get cold (airports can be quite cold, and your airplane’s temperature control may be a bit cold for you.
Pamper yourself
You should moisturize your skin all the time, even when you’re traveling on the plane. This prevents your skin from looking puffy and tired. This advice goes for men too. You should also bring a small spritzer for your face. Evian has a small container that is perfect for freshening up your skin during your flight. If you can’t find a spritzer, wash your face in the bathroom with some cold water – it will liven up your skin and also wake you up. Also, you should bring breath mints with you to take care of any bad breath. Brush your teeth when you have the opportunity, and spray on some of your favorite scent to help freshen you up.
Eat and drink
Most importantly, you should drink water and eat. Make sure you’re properly hydrated. Drink water instead of sodas. If you’re properly hydrated your skin will look good and it can actually help fight off jetlag. Eat fruits, if you have a choice. The vitamins and minerals in fruit can give you a natural energy boost.
