Keeping You Up On The Latest Fashions

Will Eyelash Extensions Look Good on You?

December 29, 2012 By Teresa Te

The eyes are known as the windows of one’s soul. And the more they are enhanced when one has nice and thick lashes. This is the reason why women want to curl their eyelashes and put mascara in an effort to make their eyes look more attractive. Whether it’s to boost their self-confidence or be attractive to men, they’re doing the right thing.

Unfortunately, not many women are gifted with long and curly lashes. The good news is that one can use fake eyelashes today. They can either use the ready-made ones that they can just stick above their original lashes or they can use the latest eyelash extensions.

The extensions are more expensive and requires a steady hand to be able to glue them in the right areas.

Instead of cluster lashes, this involves gluing a single eyelash in between your existing lashes. Experts recommend that these be attached by a professional salon hair and makeup stylist.

Go High Tech with Your Winter Fashion

December 7, 2012 By Teresa Te

Many things that people use today are going high tech. Fashion is also not to be outdone.

For technies and the fashion conscious out there looking for some unique clothing this winter that can keep up with their passion for technology, I’ve done a little research and found some items worth
considering. You may buy them for your own personal use or they can also make for great Christmas gifts to your friends and loved ones.

Hoodies or ponchos with built-in headphones. This will keep you warm while letting you enjoy your music wherever you go. Some headphones used are even washable. You can choose from varied designs and colors to go with your favorite winter outfit.

Go thermal all the way. Manufacturers of thermals have been developing new products to meet the needs of consumers during the cold winter months. Damart, a leading manufacturer, is using a special fiber called Thermolactyl in creating its thermals and has been creating winter clothing from shirts and cardigans to jeans and even boots.

Thermal underwear is also popular as it keeps the legs warm during cold weather. Uniqlo and Icebreaker are leaders in creating this product that not only helps retain the heat but helps the wearer cool down as well.

Clever winter jacket. Kathmandu has created its Breccia jacket that can be worn comfortably even when engaged in extreme sports such as snowboarding and skiing. It features the c_change membrane that retains the body’s heat when a person is not moving or inactive and allows the heat to escape to the outside air when the wearer is in action.

Beanie with audio. A beanie helps keep the head part warm but did you know that it is also now multi-functional? You can get a padded beanie with an audio. It comes with earphones which means you can stay outdoors while enjoying your favorite music.

Cool USB fur gloves. Cold weather often makes the hands and fingers numb and unable to move properly. But you can get a pair of these USB gloves that you can plug to a USB port and keep your hands warm while using your laptop outdoors.

Heated socks. Keep your feet happy and warm even in winter by using these heated socks. They are battery operated and can keep your toes warm for six or more hours. Most of them are made from acrylic, polyester and nylon.

November 14, 2012 By Teresa Te

Being a first lady is not an easy task. As the wife of a president, you need to have the right socializing skills to be able to mingle with all kinds of people from the lowest rank to those holding the highest positions in society and government.

Perhaps the most important part of being a first lady is knowing how to dress well. This is a must and here, we look at some popular wives of U.S. Presidents who have stood out from the rest.

Most of them followed their own fashion sense while some consulted with fashion experts to make them look good all the time whether inside or outside the White House.

According to authorities in the fashion world, there is a dress code that matches the job of being a first lady. They said most wives of U.S. Presidents dressed well for their age although were not really
those who set the trend. Stylist Lauren Rottman said fashion is a tool that first ladies need to embrace as it helps them to connect with people.

Rottman also revealed her top 3 picks as stylish first ladies who changed the way women dress. These are Jackie Kennedy known for her pillbox hat and A line dresses, Nancy Reagan who loved the color red
and even influenced the Republicans to adopt it and Michelle Obama who enjoys fashion more than others.

Ready Those Scarves for the Winter

November 3, 2012 By Teresa Te

As the winter season sets in the north, it’s time to check your wardrobe and make sure to have your winter clothes ready. To keep you from the cold, you need to have your jackets, sweaters, hoodies and boots out now.

One important clothing accessory you also need to use is the scarf. This item can do great things to your outfit and make you look fashionable as well.

Scarves are available in a wide range of styles, colors and patterns today and you can get them at low prices. They’re great in creating a stylish look without spending so much.

This clothing accessory can be made from various materials as well. Common materials used are soft wool, cashmere, silk, sheer, woven, jacquard knit and even fur or just the faux fur.

Because it’s so light, wearing a scarf should be very comfortable. Apart from keeping your neck area warm during the cold weather, it also provides an accent to your attire whether it’s a casual or semi-formal one.

To create your own style, you can wear the scarf in different ways. You can just let it hang on your neck or if you have a longer one, make a loop around your neck once with the ends simply hanging. You may also make a knot if it’s still possible.

Another way to use it is to make a single knot (ideal for the sheer and silk material) and position it either on the left or right depending on your preference.

Tying the scarf to create a bow or ribbon (just like you’re tying a shoelace) in front is also a great way to accentuate your top and overall outfit.

Creating a one-sided tie is also nice to look at. Do the step as if you’re tying a shoelace but only making one loop instead of making a bow.

Snow Boot and Winter Boot: What’s the Difference?

October 20, 2012 By Teresa Te

The winter season is slowly creeping in and it’s time to take out your boots once again. For those planning to buy a pair of boots for the first time, it’s best to know kind to buy. You need to choose carefully because it’s very important that you’re comfortable wearing them and they can be worn with almost any of your outfit.

Many people think that a snow boot is the same as a winter boot. They are both referred to as boots and have the same goal of protecting your feet from the cold but each has different uses.

Snow boots

A snow boot is water-resistant, has a high side extending above the ankle and has a rubber sole. This is meant for use in snow hence should be sturdy enough to protect your feet. You can use this whether in just an inch of snow or even in deeper wet snow or mud.
