Keeping You Up On The Latest Fashions

It’s Cool to Wear Overalls Again

February 22, 2013 By Teresa Te

Make way for the return of the overalls. They’re part of the nineties fashion that are making a comeback to include the Dr. Martens boots, flannel shirts and floral babydoll blouses.

The overalls, for some of you who still remember, used to be closely associated with working people doing manual labor in homes and offices such as painters and carpenters. Eventually, though, they became a fashion statement and now, they’re back.

overalls for women

This outfit comes in various styles – long or short, skirt type, colored, denim and corduroy among others. Most of what was en vogue in the past were the loose and baggy types.

Wearing the overalls can be done in different ways as well. Some even prefer to leave one strap unbuckled for a stylish effect.

Today, designers have come up with their own version of the overalls. The forecast is that this is going to be part of the spring trends as brands such as Moschino, Isabel Marant and MM6 by Maison Martin Margielao already have this in their collections. Major jeans manufacturers such as Guess, Diesel, Joe’s Jeans, Free People and American Apparel have come up with their own as well.

The latest overalls are sexier (body hugging) and although the denim material is still very popular, variations are available including those made from leather. As to the right way to wear it, there are no rules. One can use a tube, a sleeveless shirt, a collared shirt or a spaghetti strapped top underneath. Whatever makes you comfortable is most important.

Surprisingly, many female celebrities don’t mind wearing this denim jumpsuit at all. In fact, many of them like it and some still wear it when they feel like it.

How about you? Are you up to the challenge of wearing the overalls again?

What’s In for Jeans in 2013

January 7, 2013 By Teresa Te

The jeans never goes out of style. Yes, it has evolved through the years but it remains popular among people, young and old alike and there’s always that suits one’s mood. Most, if not all, surely has a pair in his closet.

Jeans-Fashion

Many of you know the traditional well known brands such as Levi’s, Pepe, Calvin Klein, Wrangler and Replay jeans. The newer brands are Diesel, Jack & Jones, Armani, Versace, Esprit, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger and Donna Karan.

The versatility of jeans is what makes it very popular among users. Whether it’s the classic blue denim or the black one you wear, it can be matched with any top from a plain white shirt, polo and blouses to sweaters, short coats and jackets.

The fall/winter season saw dark colored denims (brown, burgundy, plum and wine) in vogue although designers were also okay with earthy tones and the deep blue jeans. But for this year, here’s what we’ve gathered as to the trends for the spring season and throughout the year. [Read more…]

Quality Denim, Not Designer Jeanss

September 30, 2010 By Fashion Bug

I personally feel that buying quality denim is far better than buying designer jeans . Often the price will reflect the quality with supermarket value products often of a much lower quality denim and of a poorer cut. However this is not always the case. Although designer and more expensive brands tend to be better cut, at least for a teenage or young person’s body shape, the denim is sometimes lower quality, a real case of paying for the name.I personally feel that this is the case with brands such as diesel, which my boyfriend is a particular fan of. However every pair of these jeans I have seen him in have become ripped very quickly compared with other brands.

Personally although I steer clear of value supermarket jeans, which seem to be designed for older women and are cut larger in the bottom and hips area, I don’t buy designer either. I feel that an equally good cut and equally good if not better quality denim is available from less well known brands such as the European store ‘pull and bear’. Although this does mean I have to purchase my years denim from a store on holiday.
